Your Step-by-Step Journey as an International Patient

We have refined this process across thousands of international cases. Every step is designed to give you confidence, clarity, and comfort.

01

Virtual Consultation — Before You Book Flights

Send us 4–5 photos of your smile via WhatsApp (+91 98201 20186) or email. Include a front-facing smile, left and right profile views, and upper and lower teeth views. If you have recent dental X-rays, send those too. Dr. Mehta personally reviews every case and provides a preliminary treatment plan and fixed price quotation within 24 hours — at no charge and with no obligation to book.

This step is crucial. Many patients have assumed they need a full set of veneers when composite bonding would achieve the same result at a fraction of the cost. Dr. Mehta's honest assessment means you only receive treatment you genuinely need.

02

Treatment Plan Approval & Booking Confirmation

Once you accept the treatment plan and quote, we confirm your appointment dates. A small refundable deposit secures your booking. We then send you a Confirmation of Treatment letter, which you can use for your e-Medical Visa application and travel insurance purposes. We also provide hotel recommendations near the clinic and connect you with our trusted airport transfer service.

03

Arrival in Mumbai

Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is one of Asia's most connected hubs, with direct flights from London, Dubai, Singapore, and codeshare routes from all major cities. Our clinic in Vile Parle West is just 10 minutes from the airport by car — one of the most convenient dental tourism locations in the world. We recommend arriving the day before your first appointment to rest and adjust after travel.

04

Day 1: Clinical Assessment & Smile Design

Your first appointment is a comprehensive clinical examination. We take full intraoral scans (no messy impressions), digital X-rays, facial photographs, and run your case through our digital smile design software. You will see a preview of your proposed final result on screen and can request adjustments before any treatment begins. This collaborative design session is one of the features international patients most appreciate — no surprises.

05

Days 2–7: Treatment

For veneer and crown cases, tooth preparation is typically completed across 1–2 appointments. Your restorations are then fabricated by our in-house ceramic technicians — usually a 3–5 day process. During this time, you wear high-quality temporary restorations that are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. You are free to explore Mumbai, rest, or do light sightseeing. We schedule appointments around your comfort.

For implant cases, the surgical placement appointment takes 1–2 hours. The remaining days are for healing observation and post-operative review. You then return home and come back 3–4 months later for your permanent crown fitting.

06

Final Fitting & Departure

Your final appointment is the most rewarding. Restorations are bonded, checked meticulously for fit, bite, and aesthetics, and polished to their final lustre. We take post-treatment photographs, create your patient documentation pack (including treatment records, shade specifications, X-rays, and material certificates), and provide you with a professional maintenance kit for home care. You depart with your new smile and everything your home dentist will need.

07

Aftercare: You Are Never Alone

Dr. Mehta is personally reachable on WhatsApp for any questions after you return home. We schedule a complimentary virtual check-in at 3 months post-treatment. Your full treatment documentation means any dentist worldwide can provide emergency support if needed. Long-term warranty documentation is included with all restorations.

International Patient Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for an Indian visa for dental treatment?
Most international patients apply for an e-Medical Visa (e-MV) online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. This visa category explicitly covers dental and medical tourism. Processing typically takes 2–4 business days. We provide a treatment confirmation letter and all supporting documents required for your application. UK, USA, Australian, Canadian, and UAE citizens are all eligible for e-MV.
What if I have a dental emergency during my trip?
Dr. Mehta's personal WhatsApp is available to all patients 7 days a week, including evenings. For dental emergencies during your stay, we will see you as a priority same-day. Our clinic is open 7 days a week from 7am to 11pm. For medical emergencies unrelated to dental treatment, we have established relationships with Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Hinduja Hospital — both world-class facilities minutes from our clinic.
Do I need to bring my own dental records?
We take all necessary records at your first appointment — intraoral scans, digital X-rays, clinical photographs. However, if you have recent X-rays from your home dentist (particularly OPG panoramic X-rays or periapical films), please send them before your trip. They help with pre-treatment planning and can sometimes reduce the number of X-rays we need to take, lowering your radiation exposure.
Can NRI patients (Non-Resident Indians) visit BollywoodLooks?
Absolutely. NRI patients form a significant part of our international patient base. Many schedule treatment during annual visits to India, combining their family visit with a complete smile transformation. NRIs from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, UAE, and Singapore regularly choose to have their dentistry done here rather than in their country of residence — the quality is equivalent and the savings are dramatic.
What happens if my treatment needs adjustment after I return home?
We provide complete documentation so any local dentist can assist. For minor adjustments like polishing or bite refinement, a local dentist can easily assist using our records. For more complex issues (which are rare), we invite patients back for a complimentary correction visit — the cost of a return flight is still typically far less than the original treatment would have cost at home. We stand behind our work.
Is it safe to travel to Mumbai as a solo international patient?
Mumbai is one of India's safest major cities and extremely welcoming to international visitors. The Vile Parle West neighbourhood where our clinic is located is a quiet, upscale residential and commercial area with excellent connectivity. Many of our patients are women travelling alone and report feeling completely comfortable and well-supported throughout their stay. We are available by phone and WhatsApp throughout your entire trip.
Can I split my treatment across two separate trips?
Yes. For implant patients, two trips are actually built into the standard protocol. For cosmetic cases (veneers, crowns), we generally prefer to complete treatment in a single visit for optimal results, but if your schedule or budget requires it, we can phase treatment across two visits. We will discuss the options and implications during your virtual consultation.
How do I know the quoted price will not change when I arrive?
Your treatment price is fixed in writing before you book your flights. We do not charge "examination fees" on arrival, and we do not add procedures to your plan without your explicit consent and a revised written quote. In 20+ years of treating international patients, we have never increased a quoted price after a patient has committed and booked travel. Our reputation depends on it.
