Post Operative Instructions
1). Avoid disturbing the surgical area for at least 5 to 7 days. It’s advised to sleep straight than towards ur left or right side. Avoid keeping ur hands on ur face while sleeping.
2). Do not rinse or spit forcefully.
3). Take all medications, including mouth rinses, as prescribed
4). Drink plenty of fluids
5). Stay away from spice, acidic, sharp, and crunchy foods (including tacos, chips, and nuts)
6). Do not use any tobacco products and Cannabis
7). Keep physical activity to a minimum. Avoid strenuous activity for few days
8). Do not brush or floss in the surgical area until instructed by your dentist during ur daily check ups
9). You can expect to experience some bleeding in the first 24 hours, and may also experience swelling and bruising. Biting on a gauze pad placed directly on the wound for 30 minutes should reduce the bleeding. If you continue to bleed, contact our office.
10). For bruising and swelling, use ice packs immediately following your surgery. Apply ice for 15 min followed by 10 min rest for 24 hours.
12). After 4 to 7 days, you should be able to brush, floss, and perform other oral hygiene routines as normal in the untreated areas of your mouth.
13). Avoid brushing and flossing at the surgical site until cleared to do so by our doctor. Use anti-inflammatory medication, antibiotics, and mouth washes as prescribed.
14). A mandatory day 7 check is crucial to understand the outcome of results. This is over and above a routine check up once in 24 hrs.
15). Avoid travelling or relocating immediately after surgery. You can do so after 7 days from the date of procedure.
